Good news for the Alex Fraser Park Society and those who use the park.
The North Cariboo Joint Planning Committee has unanimously agreed to amend the budget to replace the footings in the outdoor riding arena.
Jeff Norburn is the Director of Community Services…
“Replacing the footings has been identified by the society as a high priority project that needs to be addressed in a timely manner in order for their 2017 events to proceed successfully. The society has indicated that the cost to replace the footings is estimated to be 23 thousand dollars.”
Norburn went on to say that 5 thousand dollars had been earmarked to build a gazebo and another 6 thousand to complete a Facility Condition Assessment for the assets on the property.
The Committee decided to give the group 29 thousand dollars to replace the footings and do the assessment.
The gazebo project will be deferred to 2018.
