Low speed chase ends with Spike Belts

Lake City RCMP utilized two spike belts during a low speed chase over the weekend.
At 5am on April 13th Williams Lake RCMP attempted to stop a pickup traveling West bound on Highway 20 near Meldrum Creek Road
The vehicle was swerving and traveling 60km/hr, well below the 100km/hr posted speed limit. The pickup refused to stop leading to police successfully deploying 2 spike belts. However the vehicle continued on at low speed until going off onto a driveway near the Toosey turn off.
3 people were arrested, all of whom are known to police. One female aged 14 and two males, one 19 the other 18 years of age were taken into custody.
None of the pickup’s occupants suffered injuries and no charges have been laid as the investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Accident on Highway 97 On Ramp Closed Section Briefly

A single vehicle merging onto Highway 97 Northbound in Quesnel, hit a traffic pole. Police and the Quesnel Volunteer Fire Department closed the ramp down as the accident was assessed. Only the driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital with suspected minor injuires.
