Results from a BC Transit review of service in Quesnel were released at last (Oct 25) night’s City Council meeting.
Some of the coles notes include that routes one and two, West Quesnel and Red Bluff, are the two most used routes and that routes three and four, which are North Fraser Drive and South Quesnel, are not being used very much.
Shilpa Panicker, a Senior Transit Planner, delivered the presentation to Council and also talked about who was taking the bus.
She says it was mostly adults and then Seniors and students.
Panicker says ridership peaks at 10 a.m. and then slows down after 3 p.m. which she says indicates that people are not taking the bus to work.
She says the system is mostly being used for social and recreational trips.
This information was gathered over a two week period.
The end result could result in changes to routes.
Staff will now consult with BC Transit and bring back a report to Council at a later date.
