Is Snow On The Way For The Cariboo ?

The Cariboo has been hit with some chilly temperatures over the past couple of days which begs the question of when the first snowfall will be.

Ross MacDonald is a Meteorologist with Environment Canada.

He says it is unlikely we will see anything significant, at least in the short term, as it is expected to warm up by the end of the week…

“I guess the trick is, that transition with a bit of moisture and the temperatures close to freezing there is certainly the possibility of some wet snow Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.”

MacDonald says any snow we do get won’t last as he says low temperatures of -5,-6 degrees in Quesnel and -8 degrees at the airport in Williams Lake this morning and tomorrow morning will be replaced by plus 2 or 3 by the end of the week.
