Rain Rain Go Away !

September has been a very wet month.

We spoke to Armel Castellan, a Meteorlogist with Environment Canada, who confirmed that.

He says Quesnel has had 81.4 millimetres of rain so far, which is well above normal…

“Just to put that into context what Quesnel would normally see for a typical September is 50.2 millimetres, so 81 is 31.2 millimetres more than you would normally see. It’s not quite a record, the record in 1986 was 95.7 so you’re not quite there but in striking distance.”

Castellan says Quesnel actually set a daily record on the 9th with 11.5 millimetres of rain.

It was a similar story in Williams Lake.

Catellan says the Lake City has had about 64 millimetres of rain, well above the normal of 41.2, but not even close to the record of 95.1 from 1984.
