Quesnel Mayor Talks Strategy At UBCM Convention

Taking partnerships to the next level.

Quesnel Mayor Bob Simpson says that is the focus at this week’s Union of BC Municipalities convention in Victoria.

Simpson says they already have proactive partnerships in place with different government ministries…

“In health for example the work we’ve done on doctor recruitment and primary care, now we want to talk about the renovations that are needed to GR Baker Memorial Hospital.”

Simpson says other examples are in transportation where they’ve done some good planning work and are now ready to take that out to the public to discuss options for improving traffic flow and safety on Highway 97 through town and with the Ministry of Forests on Quesnel’s community forest ask.

The formal opening of the conference was held last night and the Premier will speak later today.

Simpson says resolutions will be voted on today through Friday.
