House Sales Up Throughout Cariboo So Far In 2016

2016 has been a good year in the Cariboo so far when it comes to home sales.

William Lacy, the President of the BC Northern Real Estate Board, starts off with what has been happening in Quesnel.

“We’ve had a good year this year, the first half, our bread and butter are the residential detached homes on acreage and the residential detached homes on an acre or less and they are both up respectively 10 percent and 20 percent over last year’s activity.”

Still with Quesnel, Lacy says the days to sale, normally north of a 100, was just 88 days in July and he says July is usually a slow month.

Lacy says the numbers get even better as you head south.

He says Williams Lake has seen almost a 100 percent increase over last year when it comes to the sale of residential detached homes on acreage and Lacy says 100 Mile House has seen an increase of 100 percent in sales of homes with acreage and 70 percent for residential detached homes on an acre or less.
