Quesnel Man Will Spend Time Behind Bars For Botched Robbery

A hefty sentence for a Quesnel man who pled guilty to a couple of charges in connection with a botched robbery attempt.

32-year old Rory Ken Lornsten was sentenced to 555 days in jail and 2 years probation after pleading guilty to one count each of Robbery and Break and Enter with Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence.

Charges of Assault Causing Bodily Harm and Uttering Threats were stayed.

Lornsten was taken into custody back in November of last year after RCMP were called to a robbery in progress at a business on Jade Road.

Police say a business owner was allegedly assaulted as he interrupted the break-in but managed to escape to another room to call them.

A suspect was arrested while attempting to flee the scene in a vehicle.

Police say the business owner was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
