New State of the Art Firefighting Complex on Target for Completion by October 2016

Construction on the new Cariboo Fire Centre is now 65% complete.

Krista Dunleavey is the Manager of the Centre.

“It’s going to be very exciting to move into the new building and to have everyone consolidated in one spot and state of the art building.”

Dunleavey says the $8 million dollar project which also includes upgrades to three outbuildings, is on target for completion by October.

Construction on the 22,000 square foot one-story building had started last August with the provincial government providing $5.88 million dollars.

The Fire Centre is currently using temporary trailers and some older portables for the dispatch centre and zone building.
