One of two people charged in connection with what police are calling an assault and extortion case in Quesnel has pled guilty in provincial court.
21-year old Kassio Parker received a one year conditional sentence after pleading guilty to one count each of Unlawful Confinement and Extortion.
Charges of Uttering Threats, Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Theft under 5 thousand dollars and Use of a Firearm While Committing an Indictable Offence were stayed.
Quesnel RCMP say they were called to a residence on Veneer Road in the Plywood Hill area back in March after receiving a report that an individual had been assaulted.
Police say the suspects allegedly lured him over to their residence where the victim claims he was assaulted and forced to give them money.
25-year old Chad Tresierra is also charged in connection with this case.
