RCMP Attend Two Vehicle Collision Easter Sunday In The South Cariboo

100 Mile House RCMP responded to a head on collision on Highway 97 north of Lac La Hache over the Easter weekend.

Sargeant Brian Lamb said the incident happened on Sunday (April 20) and involved a semi truck and an SUV.

“Police attended with Emergency Health Service and local Fire Departments where two occupants from the SUV were treated at the scene and taken to hospital for further treatment with undetermined injuries. The driver of the semi truck was not injured.”

Lamb said it is believed the SUV crossed the centre line and contacted the side of the trailer attached to the semi truck.

“Impairment was not suspected as a factor but it is suspected the driver of the SUV may have been distracted from the road momentarily and crossed over into the oncoming lane,” Lamb said.

There were some delays in traffic flow in the area while the scene was cleared.
