Lions Wrap Up Taking on the Cariboo with Important Message

Students at Correlieu and Quesnel Secondary Schools were visited by a couple of BC Lions this afternoon and the lesson they were teaching wasn’t about how to become a professional football player.

They were at the High Schools as representatives of the Be More Than A Bystander Program which addresses violence against women and respectful relationships .

Rolly Lumbala, a 9-year Full Back with the Leos, talks about the affects this visit will have on these young men and women.

“We’ve given them so many different tools on how to handle a situation and the most important thing is you don’t have to get involved and do it in a violent way-that there are so many different ways that you can resolve a problem without being physical and violent and it’s great.”

Lumbala and offensive guard T-Dre Player will now head back to Vancouver after also making stops at High Schools in Williams Lake and 100 Mile House earlier this week.
