Smiles All Round As Another Williams Lake Youth Group Benefits From Local Fundraiser

It was another successful year for a Williams Lake business whom for the past 5 years have been raising awareness on Pink Shirt Day as well as funds for local Youth Groups.

Do More Promotional Owner Nancy Dron said sales from their unique Pink Shirt day merchandise came out to a total of $875 which they gave to BCG Williams Lake.

It went very well this year. We were able to bring a little bit more money than we were last year so any step in that direction is good in our eyes. Being able to hand over that money was that much more meaningful.”

Dron added that it’s always a huge feeling of satisfaction to be able to help out our local clubs, to hand over that cheque it makes us feel very good about it.

BCG Williams Lake Director Christa Harvey says the donation was amazing and explained how some of that money will be used.

We have lots of initiatives that goes on at the club. We have a necessity nook and a food bank for youth. We have a backpack program that we do weekly with the High Schools and some kids don’t get to go on adventures so maybe we might go to Barkerville or something like that.”

Harvey said BCG Williams Lake sees an average of 15 kids coming to their Drop-in program to enjoy snacks and to do activities.

This year we just finished our stats and we had 293 youth using the club. We thank Do-More Promotional and everyone who supports our club.”
