Tyson Delay Pumped Up For The Arnold Strongman Classic

Williams Lake strongman Tyson Delay will be heading south of the border to take part in another prestigious event.

On March first he will be one of 30 to 50 competitors at the Arnold Strongman Classic which he was invited to attend after winning the title of Canadian Champion last year.

Delay said this event in addition to the strongman competition, also features body building, power lifting, Olympic weight lifting, as well as martial arts.

What they’re doing for weight class athletes in Strongman is they are allowing us to have this as almost like a World Championship. I did the Official Strongman Games last year, that’s another World Championship for weight classes. There’s not a lot of representation on the world scale for weight classes so it’s really nice to have this opportunity to basically do a World Championship because you get the title Strongest Man on Earth if you win it in your weight class.”

Delay said he is really excited to be competing against the very best in the world.

It will be the heaviest show I’ve ever done by far and my training over the past several weeks has been heavier than I ever imagined training for a very, very long time. This is the strongest I’ve ever been by far.”

Delay noted that there are four events on day 1 and then the top 4 men go into day 2 so I’m really hoping to make the top 4.
