A Quesnel man, accused of abducting a 10-year old boy, will learn his fate next month.

46-year old Jason Penner is due back in Supreme Court on March 13th.

That’s when Madame Justice Anita Chan is scheduled to make her decision.

His two week trial wrapped up on Friday.

Penner is charged with abduction of a person under 14 and abduction of a person under 16.

Quesnel RCMP received a report of a missing boy back in July of 2022.

Police said he was last seen riding his bike along Avery Avenue in West Quesnel at around 3-30 in the afternoon, and that they were told that he was seen in the company of an adult male who was also on a bicycle.

RCMP say they able to identify the man and locate the boy safe the following morning at the man’s residence.
