A car accident between a pickup truck and a transport truck caused a local man’s death last night [Nov. 29].
Quesnel RCMP said they were called out to the accident, 20 kilometers north of Quesnel.
“The investigation revealed the southbound transport truck collided with a northbound pickup,” Sergeant Richard Weseen of Quesnel RCMP says. “The lone occupant of the pickup died at the scene. The driver of the transport truck was left uninjured.”
Weseen says Quesnel was in the midst of a major snowstorm at the time of the accident. The roads were covered with ice and snow, and visibility was barely visible.
He adds the investigation is still ongoing.
Police report that two more incidents involving transport trucks and poor driving conditions occurred in the mornings of November 30.
Investigations into those incidents are on going as well.
RCMP urge motorists to take extra precautions when driving.
