Six people sent to hospital following two vehicle crash north of Hixon

The Prince George RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision between a pickup truck and a minivan that occurred on Highway 97 South near Colebank Road, about four kilometres north of Hixon.

It happened just after 5:00 last night (Wednesday).

“There was a single occupant in the pickup truck and a family of five, including four children between the ages of five and twelve, in the minivan. All of those involved were taken to the hospital by Emergency Health Services with injuries ranging from moderate to severe,” stated Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.

Traffic was disrupted in the area for approximately five hours as police officers and the North District Traffic Analyst gathered information from the scene.

Criminality is not suspect in this incident and the investigation remains ongoing.
