Local rink captures the title in Grey Cup Cashspiel

The Justin Nilsson rink from Quesnel won this year’s annual Grey Cup Cashspiel.

Nilsson broke a close game wide open in the 5th end.

Tracey Jones from Prince George had a 2-1 lead after 4 when Nilsson made a tough takeout through an opening to score 5 to take a commanding 6-2 lead.

A steal of two more in the 6th and it was all over.

Dave Henderson and Derek Langlois were the other two members on the winning team.

Carl Haugland from PG won the B event final in a close battle, 8-6 over Eric Eriksson of Quesnel.,

And Gord Russell knocked off Colorado Marr 7-1 in an all Qusnel battle for the C event title.

A total of 12 rinks took part.
