“I have been on Provincial Council for the Trustees for a long time, since I started in 2014. But I haven’t been in the Chair position. We’ve had some really good people in that position and I am excited to take on this roll.”

Runge says the Board is facing a lot of challenges these days.

“Whether it be recruitment/retention of staff or just some of the social media pressures that our students are facing, I mean there is a huge gambit of things that are challenges in education, but whatever we’re facing we still have to educate our students, so we will deal with it and we will find solutions and we’ll move on, so as long as we keep what’s best for the students in our mind we can’t go wrong.”

Trustee Tony Goulet, a former Board Chair, was also nominated for the position.

Runge takes over from Lisa Boudreau, who decided not to let her name stand for Chair this time around due to family reasons.

Boudreau was acclaimed as Vice-Chair.
