Wells Fire Chiefs Announce Resignation

The Wells Volunteer Fire Brigade (WVFB) lost their two Fire Chiefs overnight.

Brendan and Emily Bailey regretfully announced that they are resigning from the brigade effective midnight on October 31 and November 1.

The WVFB announced the chiefs’ departures in a post on their Facebook page.

The Bailey’s said in the post that they are “incredibly grateful to – and proud of” the volunteers they served with.

“It has been one of the greatest honours of my life,” Brendan Bailey says in a note on the post. “It has been challenging to step away during a period of such momentum in professional development, but it’s the right decision for our family.”

The Baileys also said that they are confident in the WVFB team and will continue to support them from the sidelines.

Wells Council was made aware of the Baileys’ resignations earlier this month. Deputy Almond becomes the Acting Chief of the WVFB until the Council motions and appoints a new Fire Chief.
