Quesnel man sentenced for threatening people with a knife

A man accused of threatening people with a knife in downtown Quesnel has been sentenced in provincial court.

33-year old Grant Leeson pleaded guilty to one count of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, and to two counts of breach of probation.

Two other charges, uttering threats and possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, were stayed.

Leeson was sentenced to 16 days in jail and 24 months probation.

Quesnel RCMP were called to the 800 block of Reid Street back on July 30th for a report of a man threatening several people with a knife.

Fortunately no one was hurt.
