Jail time for one of three people charged in large drug bust in Quesnel

One of three people charged in connection with a large drug seizure in Quesnel has been sentenced in provincial court.

22-year old James Dano was sentenced to 15 months in jail and also received a 10-year firearms prohibition after pleading guilty to one count of trafficking a controlled substance.

Four other counts were stayed.

Two other men charged in connection with this case, 34-year old Kyle Campbell and 61-year old Christopher Sutton, are scheduled to go to trial next month. (October 24th)

The Quesnel RCMP Crime Reduction Unit wrapped up an investigation in August of 2022 with the arrest of a suspect in a commercial parking lot off of Newman Road.

It was an extensive investigation that also included units based out of Williams Lake and Prince George.

Search warrants were then executed on properties on Ash Street, Eagle Road, and Pollard Road resulting in the seizure of just under 5 kilograms of cocaine, $92,000 cash, and 15 firearms.
