BC Central Statistics Agency releases 2015 Population Numbers

The latest Population stats for all regions of the province have been released with some Cariboo communities showing a slight increase.

The City of Williams Lake gained 266 people last year, with 100 Mile House gaining 30.

Quesnel’s population meanwhile dropped by 600 from 9,760 to 9,160.

The regional population for the Cariboo-Chilcotin was 62,263 in 2015 vs 62,882 in 2014-a drop of 1%.

Also dropping was Prince George which declined by 1,958.

B.C’s overall population grew by 1.0% between July 2014 and June 2015-an increase of almost 45,000 people.
