There wasn’t a lot of down time last month for members of the Central Cariboo Search and Rescue Teams.
In August they responded to 12 Auto Extrication call outs working with BC Emergency Health Services, RCMP and many area Fire Departments.
During some of those incidents they had to utilize their Embankment Rope Rescue skills to safely extricate patients.
Central Cariboo Search and Rescue was also tasked out to 4 Land and Rescue call outs.
Many of those were assisting BC Emergency Health Services with injured patients, utilizing their Wildland Rope Rescue skills, one included a search for a missing person who was successfully located.
To help keep these call out numbers from rising, Central Cariboo Search and Rescue reminds drivers to slow down and never drive while impaired or distracted.
Drivers are also asked when you see them responding with lights and sirens, to pull over and give them adequate space to respond safely.
Something going on in the Cariboo you think people should know about?
