Williams Lake Residents enjoyed the Grey Cup Festival Tour

The BC Lions Grey Cup Festival Tour showed up to Williams Lake attracting fans of the sport.

The tour has made various stops across the province, including 100 Mile House on August 8th, and Quesnel on August 9th.

Grey Cup Brand Ambassador, Hana Tak says the visits to rural communities like Williams Lake have exceeded expectations.

“We’ve had some people come out early, some fans came right at opening, everyone’s been super nice. We’ve had BC Lions fans, Saskatchewan Roughriders fans, as well as Hamilton Tiger-Cat fans.” says Tak.

“Everyone’s come up and have had great energy. They’ve also participated in our fan cam contest, which has been really great.”

Other activities at the festival tour included cornhole, football throwing, and highlight videos, giving residents a taste of the upcoming Grey Cup Festival in November.

Throughout the tour, Tak says they’ve even had fans of other sports stop by and get excited for the upcoming Grey Cup in Vancouver.

The Grey Cup Festival Tour began at noon today and will go until 4:00pm, and is the final Cariboo stop.

Accident on Highway 97 On Ramp Closed Section Briefly

A single vehicle merging onto Highway 97 Northbound in Quesnel, hit a traffic pole. Police and the Quesnel Volunteer Fire Department closed the ramp down as the accident was assessed. Only the driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital with suspected minor injuires.
