As the River Valley is nearing its recovery plan, Williams Lake City Council gave appreciation to the local fire department.
This comes after a wildfire that occurred on July 21st, which had Williams Lake Fire Department, along with other departments stopping the blaze from entering the City.
During last night’s Council Meeting, members from the department accepted a certificate, along with a framed image of the River Valley wildfire.
Council also gave appreciation to BC Wildfire Service as well as all other departments that came to support in suppressing the fire.
The City is working on a graphic to present to those other departments, get approval, and hold a presentation.
