Emergency room closures continue to hit the Cariboo region

There were two more over the weekend, one in 100 Mile House and another in Williams Lake.

Interior Health announced a temporary service disruption at 100 Mile District General Hospital that extended from last (Sunday) night at 7 o’clock to this (Monday) morning at 7.

The closure was blamed on limited nurse availability.

Patients were advised to access care in Williams Lake, Lilloet or Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.

The ER closure at Cariboo Memorial in Williams Lake that went from Saturday night at 8 until Sunday morning at 6.

People in need of life-threatening emergency care (i.e., chest pains, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding) should always call 9-1-1 for transport to the nearest available and appropriate facility.
