Williams Lake residents face another Emergency Room closure

100 Mile House and area residents are advised of temporary changes to emergency department hours at 100 Mile House District General Hospital. Interior Health says the emergency room services will be unavailable from 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, until 8 a.m. on Sunday, August 17.

B.C. school officials say the province’s move to require AEDs and naloxone kits in all public schools is a positive step, but some are concerned about a lack of provincial funding to support the requirements. 

The Williams Lake Fire Department responded to a call of a wildland fire along the slope behind the Walmart. Assistant Fire Chief Cory Boyd said the fires were small, slow moving, and easily extinguished.

The Cariboo Fire Centre has provided an update on the wildfires across the region. Currently, there are five fires across the Cariboo, with one listed as 'Out of Control'. That is the Hotnarko Lake Fire, reported to be 60.2 hectares in size.
