Driver From Williams Lake Dead in Single Vehicle Rollover Near 109 Mile

A single vehicle collision Wednesday afternoon has claimed the life of a driver from Williams Lake.

100 Mile House RCMP received a report of a single vehicle rollover on Highway 97 near 109 Mile at 5:09 pm.

The lone occupant from Williams Lake was northbound and lost control of the vehicle. It went off the highway and flipped on its roof. The female driver was confirmed deceased at the scene.

RCMP  from 100 Mile House and Cariboo Chilcotin Traffic Services attended.

The incident remains under investigation although drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor.

The roads were icy with compact snow at the time.

and another fatal vehicle incident on Highway 97-Prince George RCMP attended to the scene of a collision between a tractor trailer hauling a dump truck and a pickup truck near the intersection of Buckhorn Lake Road and Hwy 97 at 3pm.

There were single occupants in each vehicle, the driver of the pick-up truck was deceased at the scene.

The tractor trailer driver received minor injuries and was transported to the UNBC Hospital via BCAS.

The impact caused the commercial vehicle to catch fire.

The road remained closed during the examination of the scene by a RCMP Collision Reconstructionist from Williams Lake.
