Favourable conditions have helped BC Wildfire Service crews with the Moose Valley wildfire.
The fire, which is 11 kilometres southwest of 108 Mile and 13 kilometres northwest of 100 Mile House, hasn’t seen too many changes outside of its size.
Fire Information Officer, Jeromy Corrigan says the rain and cooler temperatures have helped suppress the fire.
“It did receive a status change from out of control to being held, which is fantastic news.” says Corrigan.
“It is still estimated at 290 hectares in size.”
Corrigan says crews are continuing to mop up and complete the wet line around the fire.
He says the rest of this week’s conditions are favourable, but BC Wildfire has eyes on the long weekend, where it looks like it will heat up again.
Corrigan says weather can still change, and crews are focusing on one day at a time.
Since Saturday (July 27th), the Cariboo region hasn’t seen any new wildfires start.
