Three evacuation alerts have been lifted by the Cariboo Regional District Emergency Operations Centre.
The first lift was for the Bowron Lake Park Area, which was originally put in place on July 26th, at 12:30pm, with the second one in the Bowron Park Area that was issued at the same time.
The third lift is for the Barkerville Area that was issued on July 26th at noon.
An alert or order may need to be reissued for the three areas, and if it’s deemed necessary, the process will re-commence, and residents need to be prepared if it happens on short notice.
Those returning are asked to stay out of fire affected areas and obey all warnings and hazard signs to ensure public safety, and for rural properties that have been impacted by wildfire, residents should be aware there may be danger trees in the area.
Poor air quality may remain as a result of smoke from nearby fire activity, and those with respiratory issues, small children, and the elderly should consider this before they choose to return.
