That said, Doherty isn’t sure when that might be.
He says until a budget is presented there are no funding mechanisms in place.
Doherty says the Liberal Government has promised a lot of infrastructure dollars and he wants to to make sure that some of it makes it to his riding.
He says that he is in constant dialogue with the Cariboo Mayors on what their communities need.
It is somewhat ironic that Doherty is vowing to try and get federal arena money when it is his Conservative predecessor Conservative MP Dick Harris who is being blamed for failing to do that when his government was in power.
Quesnel Mayor Bob Simpson, last week, singled out Harris for not only his failure to get any money for the arena project in Quesnel but the failed Multi Centre project as well.
