Williams Lake was one of 16 communities in B.C. to set a maximum temperature record yesterday (July 17).
According to Environment Canada, places that set a new high included: Williams Lake 33.1, the old record was 32 in 1979 and the Puntzi Mountain area reached 34 degrees beating the old record of 32.3 back in 2012.
Other communities setting records yesterday were Burns Lake 32.8, Mackenzie 34.4, Chetwynd 35.1, and Dawson Creek 34.4.
The heat warning for the Cariboo and much of the province continues for the rest of this week.
