Vehicle Fire Extinguished By 100 Mile Fire Rescue

100 Mile Fire Rescue responded to an early morning vehicle fire today (Tuesday) on Exeter Truck Road.

Deputy Fire Chief Cole Sparreboom said they received the call at 8:20 and upon arrival found it fully involved in the ditch facing Southbound.

Sparreboom said the lone occupant was able to get out of the vehicle with no injuries.

Four apparatus were on scene along with RCMP, BC Emergency Health Services and BC Hydro.

Sparreboom noted fire fighters quickly knocked down the fire and the cause is still under investigation.

There was a second vehicle involved in the incident, Sparreboom said, that was struck by a cable that was attached to a hydro pole.

That vehicle did sustain damage to the windshield and there were no injuries to the occupant.
