A trial date has been set for a Quesnel man who is accused of abducting a 10-year old boy.
46-year old Jason Penner is due back in Supreme Court on January 27th of next year.
10 days have been set aside for his trial and he will be tried by a judge alone.
Penner is charged with abduction of a person under 14 and abduction of a person under 16.
Quesnel RCMP received a report of a missing boy back in July of 2022.
Police said he was last seen riding his bike along Avery Avenue in West Quesnel at around 3-30 in the afternoon, and that they were told that he was seen in the company of an adult male who was also on a bicycle.
RCMP say they were able to identify the man and locate the boy safe the following morning at the man’s residence.
