The month of June has seen more motor vehicle incidents than years prior.
While summer is typically busy, Central Cariboo Search and Rescue have responded to 15 motor vehicle incidents.
Member and Public Relations Coordinator, Debra Bortolussi says this time of year sees very similar causes.
“Everyone thinks because the daylight is out for longer, that they’re not keeping aware of their fatigue levels, or maybe their alcohol intake throughout the entire day.” says Bortolussi.
“Knowing that those things add up, there’s just no excuse to ever need to drive while impaired or to drive while distracted.”
Bortolussi says drivers should expect movement from wildlife in the early mornings and late evenings, along with lots of traffic.
While road conditions may be nice, there’s still a risk to driving, which she says drivers need to do their best to be prepared.
