Shorthanded Wranglers Take Aim at 1st Place Versus North Okanagan

It’ll be a shorthanded 100 Mile House Wranglers club taking on challengers from North Okanagan and Sicamous this weekend…

Already missing defenders Josh Odelein and Kolten Carpenter to injury, the club will also be without starting goalie Zane Steeves, as the stalwart netminder has been called up to the Merritt Centennials.

The goaltending situation doesn’t concern Wranglers coach Dale Hladun who is confident that Adam Derochie can hold the fort:

Derochie is playing really good and, for Adam, it’s a nice reward as he gets back-to-back games. He’s been so strong for us and he had a real good game versus Revie (Revelstoke) the other night. So, I’m pretty excited for him to have back-to-back games.

The eighteen year old from Maple Ridge has a league-leading .940 save percentage in 13 games this season with the Wranglers.

Puck drop tonight versus the Knights is at 7pm.
