National Indigenous Day Celebrations In Full Swing Across The Cariboo

National Indigenous People’s Day celebrations are underway throughout the Cariboo.

In Williams Lake it started with a parade that started at ten this morning ending at Boitanio Park where many events are taking place.

In Quesnel the Helen Dixon Centre is the sight of Indigenous People’s Day events that includes drumming and dancing.

Executive Director of the Quesnel Tillicum Society Friendship Centre, Tony Goulet says he’s seen the number of people coming out to this event grow every year from 500 to up to 2,000.

And in the South Cariboo National Indigenous Day events are happening until 3 this afternoon at the Eliza Archie Memorial School.
