Cariboo to see warmer weather as Summer Solstice kicks off today

Summer Solstice is here, and Cariboo residents can expect to see an increase in temperatures.

Along with the warmer weather, Environment Canada forecasts the region to see a bit more sun over the next few days.

Meteorologist, Bobby Sekhon says we’ll be seeing temperatures above seasonal.

“For the next few days we’re going to see temperatures rise above normal, and we’re going to see the peak of it tomorrow where we have a high of about 27 degrees, and the normal for this time of year is about 24. Just three degrees above normal.”

Sekhon says Saturday night is when the region will see a shift towards cooler temperatures, reaching as low as 16 to 17 early next week.

He notes there will be a return to warmer temperatures mid next week.

The remaining months of summer is indicating temperatures will be above normal, but could still see some cold snaps or similar events in that time.

More information regarding the weather can be found on Environment Canada’s website here.
