City of Williams Lake staff are working on repairing a water main, expected to end by late afternoon.
Staff were called out yesterday after water began bubbling up between the sidewalk and the road on Gibbon Street between Western Ave and 6th Ave, causing them to dig down to find the service broken.
Director of Municipal Services, Rob Warnock talks about the work continuing today.
“Crews worked for a few hours into the night last night and got most of it fixed, and they’re back there today.”
“That’s why we’ve had the road closed again today just so our staff are safe on the street, and hopefully they should be able to button everything up today.”
The road is estimated to be closed until 4:30pm, with Warnock adding a potential to open up sooner.
They ask that everyone use caution and obey the traffic signs in the area.
