Officials say cooler temperatures and higher humidity, along with the chance of rain, should ease the wildfire threat to Fort Nelson.
The entire community of 47-hundred people has been evacuated, and the fire has damaged some homes on the outskirts.
But no injuries have been reported. (About 231 of the evacuees have found shelter in Prince George while over 3,000 have made their way to Fort St John or Dawson Creek)
Officials are also keeping a close eye on another wildfire burning about 25 kilometres to the north.

In Alberta, officials are cautiously optimistic that they’re making progress in the battle against the wildfire raging about five kilometres southwest of Fort McMurray.
Cooler temperatures and lower wind speeds yesterday (Wednesday) were a big help.
Heavy equipment operators worked all night to create fire breaks, while night-vision-equipped helicopters have been dropping water and fire retardant on the fire’s leading edge.
Four southern suburbs of the city of 67-thousand have already been evacuated while the rest are on alert to pull out at a moment’s notice.
