Cariboo Fire Centre open house draws in hundreds over the weekend

The Cariboo Fire Centre opened their doors to the public last weekend, and saw great attendance.

This was the second year that the Fire Centre has held an open house, with last year being hailed a success, bringing in around 200 hundred people.

Fire Information Officer, Madison Dahl said “The event went really well. We had roughly 500 participants this year, and it was great to see so many community members at the Fire Centre.”

Dahl added that they’d like to see the open house to continue for next year and support community wildfire preparedness day, with different emergency response services in the region.

She said it’s always a nice opportunity for the community to visit the Fire Centre and ask questions, or see how different sections of wildfire response runs.
