CRD Board Chair issues statement on the censure of Quesnel Mayor

The Chair of the Cariboo Regional District Board has released a statement on the censure of Quesnel Mayor Ron Paull at last night’s City Council meeting.

Margo Wagner says they are aware that Council has revoked his appointment to the CRD’s Board of Directors, adding that they welcome a new municipal representative once one is selected.

Wagner says the Board as a whole remains committed to the principles of reconciliation and strengthening their relationship with all Indigenous governments in the Cariboo and the Chilcotin.

She says the CRD will not be issuing any further comment about Mayor Paull’s censure at this time.

Paull is accused of taking a controversial book, Grave Error: How the Media Misled Us (and the truth about Residential Schools), to a CRD meeting and trying to distribute it.

He denies the accusation.
