busy morning for williams lake emergency services

Emergency services were called this morning to assist in helping a United Concrete worker who had been partially buried in a gravel bin.

Williams Lake Fire Chief Des Webster describes the scene.

“ We were called there to assist with a worker who had been trapped inside a gravel hopper in one of their buildings there. When we arrived there he was actually buried right up to his chest with a worker in there trying to assist to free him”.

Webster says fire fighters used their rope rescue crew to assist in removing the gravel from him and to extract him from the hopper which they did successfully and with minor injuries.
