Woman charged in child abuse investigation in Quesnel

More charges have been laid in connection with a lengthy child abuse investigation with ties to Quesnel.

Alberta RCMP’s Serious Crimes Branch announced today the arrest of two suspects, including 43-year old Sherina Maria Handsor, who is facing charges related to new victims that have come forward in Quesnel.

Handsor is facing 7 counts of failure to provide the necessities of life, three counts of assault, two of administrating a noxious substance, and one each of assault with a weapon, and assault causing bodily harm.

She is due back in court today (Wednesday) in Stony Plain, Alberta.

RCMP say information received during the course of this investigation suggests that there may be other victims or individuals who know something about the potential involvement of Hansor in offences against children.

Handsor was also arrested and charged back on April 8th in connection with an investigation into child abuse in Edson, Alberta.
