The Cariboo Chilcotin Child Development Centre was one of eight Social Service Organizations in the Cariboo to receive a community gaming grant from the BC Government.

They’veĀ been putting in applications for this certain grant for a few years now and finally after being rewarded with one, Operation Manager for the Cariboo Chilcotin Child Development Centre, Vanessa Riplinger explains what they’llĀ be doing with the eighty-eight thousand dollars.

ā€œWe use it towards a street worker position, we use for our horsing around program. For our swim program so it assist with us staffing some of these programs. It assist with us being able to provide services within our community so it really helps us working with our youth and our childrenā€.

OtherĀ Cariboo Social ServiceĀ OrganizationsĀ that wereĀ given a sizeable Community Gaming Grant include Williams Lake Hospice Society, Boys and Girls Club of Williams Lake and DistrictĀ andĀ Educo adventure School in 100 Mile House.
