House fire claims life in Prince George

One person has died following a house fire in the Hart that resulted in $250,000 worth of damage.

According to the city, Prince George Firefighters responded to an active monitored alarm at a residence along the 4000 block of Chestnut Drive just after 10:30 pm last night (Monday).

Upon arrival, crews found smoke and flames coming from the single-family unit. Members from three halls worked for three hours to extinguish the blaze.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
