Two people are dead following collisions near 70 Mile House and Hixon Tuesday morning.
RCMP from Clinton and 100 Mile House as well as emergency responders responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 97 north of 70 Mile House at approximately 8:15 am.
Police say the collision involved two vehicles on a four lane roadway where one vehicle crossed over and collided with the other vehicle.
There was one occupant in each vehicle.
The deceased was in the northbound vehicle that crossed over into the path of the southbound vehicle.
The driver of the southbound vehicle was transported to hospital-their condition is unknown.
A second fatal collision occurred later in the morning 15 kilometers south of Hixon while a vehicle was attempting to pass a semi truck.
Police say the vehicle hit the semi after losing control, sending itself into the ditch.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Highway 97 in Both Directions near the incidents (20 km north of 70 Mile House and 14.7 km south of Hixon) are currently closed.
