A Tender Will Be Chosen Soon For The New Apartment Building Project In Quesnel

Seven tenders are in the running to work on the new apartment building going up on North Fraser Drive in Quesnel.

Executive Director of the Quesnel Tillicum Society, Tony Goulet, said they’ll be going through the applications and as soon as that’s done we’re looking to have that in place towards the end of next week.

“If everything goes smoothly we could be looking at the project beginning in May, the latest would be June.”

Goulet said it’s a 34 unit building with one bedroom, two bedroom, and some bachelor suites.

We asked Goulet once the project gets started how long would it take to complete it.

“Anywhere from a year to two years depending on the construction season, of course weather plays a factor but if everything goes well we could have people in the building within the year.”

He noted it’s wonderful to have that many spaces available especially in the times we’re in.

“I know people are asking me do you have any drawings of it. We’ll probably have an open house at some point to really showcase what the building looks like which would be fantastic for us as well. I get a lot of questions about what does this thing look like?

This new dwelling will be built in the vacant lot beside the Friendship Centre and is fully funded by BC Housing.
