Assault charges pending in S. Cariboo

Assault charges are pending against a male in 100 Mile House.

RCMP say they responded to a report of domestic violence at a residence in 93 Mile but the male involved had already driven away.

Mounties say they intercepted the pick-up truck on Highway 97 not too long after.

A first roadside screening test was failed and the second declined by the driver who was then issued a 90 day immediate roadside driving prohibition and had his vehicle impounded for 30 days.

Police say the man was held in custody until the domestic assault investigation could be completed, and then he was released on a promise to appear in court this July.
